Anger & Aggression

Every single one of us have at one time been angry. Maybe it was your favorite sports team losing, maybe it was someone being rude to your friend, maybe it was someone saying hurtful things about your children, maybe it was you continuing to over think an issue that with clear communication would have gotten resolved before the anger boiled over.

Whether you've felt anger for one many or none of these reasons, anger is a part of life. When we start to understand our anger we are better able to address issues that may cause it and help prevent our anger from negatively affecting ourselves and others. In this latest podcast by Neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman he discusses why we get angry, the different types of anger, and what we can do to improve our own self-regulation.

Dr. Jake has previously written on the relationship between the pre-frontal cortex and the amygdala, where many of the neural circuits for anger are housed. You can click here to read.
